TALLAHASSEE, Fla — Following their popular #COVIDWear project, local commercial photographers, The Workmans, have announced the sequel to this project just in time for the holidays: A Very COVID(wear) Christmas.

Alex and Chelsea Workman, owners of The Workmans, figured that the year has not been normal, so holiday photos and Christmas cards might as well not be, either. The holiday season is a time of fun, joy, and excitement, and in a time where “so many people need smiles,” and because their last project brought many smiles to people’s faces, combining the concept of Christmas cards and #COVIDWear only made sense.

“The Holiday season is joyful for many, but with the divisions in our nation, post election stress, and normal holiday depression, we think that a little humor this season is exactly what is needed,” The Workmans explain.

During the week of Nov. 15, The Workmans will be taking “Christmas Eve on the Top and Quarantine on the bottom” photos for A Very COVID(wear) Christmas photoshoots for families, friends, and individuals alike at their studio. Matching festive pajamas or work clothing and workout clothing combined is suggested, but “we encourage you to be creative!” they say. Bright, festive photo backgrounds will be used on different days for either Christmas, Hanukkah, or winter time and the holidays in general.

The COVIDwear project, which began this summer, poked “fun at the strange times the world is living in and the adjustments everyone has had to make” through vibrant, fun portraits of Tallahassee locals — quarantine style. Amid COVID-19 concerns that the last couple of months have posed, a “business on the top, quarantine on the bottom” approach has been taken when attending virtual meetings, and the creative duo wanted to highlight this through the project. The project came to a close this past October.
