TALLAHASSEE, Fla (The Tally Wire) – Tallahassee barbecue staple Jim and Milt’s announced Friday that it would be closing at over 40 years in business.
“Today’s announcement is a tough and emotional one,” the restaurant owners, the Flury family, wrote on their Facebook page. “After 40 plus years we have decided to retire and will be closing.”
The restaurant will be open Friday, Nov. 19 until its last day of business, which is Sunday, Nov. 18 ,from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. It will be closed on Thanksgiving.
“We can’t begin to thank you enough for all the years of support and loyalty to our restaurant. Many folks refer to us as a Tallahassee staple, we are very proud of that and thank you for it,” the owners continued.
Opened in 1979, Jim and Milt’s, which is located at 1923 West Pensacola Stret, is the city’s oldest run eating establishment.
