Tallahassee readers, rejoice! On June 10, 2019, the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System announced on Facebook that they have implemented an auto-renewal program for checked-out books in their system. From now on, for specific titles, readers will no longer have to worry about renewing their checked-out books either online or in person.

Eligible books will now be automatically renewed 3 days before the original due date for the reader’s convenience. Now, too, “due date notification emails will now be sent 2 days in advance,” the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System detailed.

Several years ago, the Leon County Libraries implemented a digital program that enabled overdue fines on books to be paid online in addition to being able to pay these fines in-person. This newest update to the library system has left readers pleasantly surprised and grateful for the change.

In addition to receiving e-mails and updates with these notifications from the Leon County Libraries, you can also receive text message notifications for renewals, due dates, and more. For more information, visit the LeRoy Collins Leon County Public Library System site here.
